The Hitech Robotics, a pioneer in defense technology, today celebrates a momentous achievement with the successful flag-off of its indigenously developed UXOR (Unexploded Ordnance Handling Robot) for the Indian Air Force (IAF). The ceremony, led by Dr Chandrika Kaushik, Director General (Production Coordination & Services Interaction (PC & SI)) at DRDO, and Air Marshal V Rajasekhar from the IAF, marks a significant stride in enhancing the safety and efficiency of bomb disposal operations.
Hitech Robotics takes immense pride in manufacturing the UXOR, a state-of-the-art robot designed to handle unexploded ordnance weighing up to 1,000 kg. This cutting-edge technology empowers IAF personnel to operate from a safe distance of 1 km, significantly reducing the risk associated with bomb disposal tasks.
The UXOR is equipped with two powerful manipulator arms, one dedicated to handling heavy ordnance and the other featuring an abrasive water jet cutting machine for precise fuse disruption. This combination ensures safe and efficient bomb disposal operations, minimizing collateral damage.
The flag-off ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries from DRDO, IAF, DGAQA, BSF, and the Hitech Robotics family. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of all stakeholders in bolstering India’s national security.

This has been a wonderful synergetic effort between airforce, the end user, industry, hitech robotics and my team and R&D Engineers together they have worked very efficiently in an integrated manner to develop a state of the art system which will give capability to the armed forces that is currently not existing . “Unexploreded bombs are a major impediment to war fighting for all armed forces all over the world and also much later even the civilian population lived in the vicinity, therefore a robotic device for clearance of unexploreded bomb is a much needed requirement of the armed forces and I am happy that IAF placed the an order for the indeginous system . Indian industry A DRDO has stepped up and today we are extremely happy to flag off this vehicle for induction into the IAF, My compliments to the team” said Air Marshal V Rajsekhar after the flag off ceremony.
